How long will it take to kick in? I'm taking 30mg daily. Is that enough?

IMO, zinc only offers improvement when you have a large/long enough melatonin cycle at night, since melatonin stimulates cells to produce the superoxide disumutase needed to make zinc superoxide dismutase, the anti-oxidant that could prevent the inflammatory stage of acne.

How long to kick in? 2-5 days. Is that enough? If you don't have a good nocturnal melatonin surge, 10 times that may not be enough. If you do, you may not need any zinc at all (no need to worry about the inflammatory stage if there's no acne to start with, and melatonin itself lowers the odds of acne via multiple pathways: slowing cell division, suppressing androgens, functioning directly as an anti-oxidant, improving waning insulin response, etc.
