Too much BP? I can't even smile because of dryness after washing

Recommended Posts

I started the regimen about 3 days ago. I have been using about the same amount Dan used in his vids or more.

In the morning or after washing my face my mouth area becomes super dry, I can see white skin everywhere, there is more dry white skin than normal. I can't smile nor open my mouth as wide as I normally could because it's not elastic anymore and it hurts lols.

Too much BP? What is that white skin? Should I try to get rid of it by using AHA or something else to exfoliate?

Have you used BP before? I think my acne.org regimen is going to be coming in tomorrow, I have never used it before but I already use BP on my face twice daily (neutrogena on the spot.. I don't use nearly as much as Dan does though) so using the regimen will probably not be as harsh to me starting out. But you are supposed to gradually work up to using two pumps or whatever of the BP. I would advise that you go down to one pump or maybe half a pump once a day or once every other day to get your skin used to it. Do you use the moisturizer too? That would help... Just whatever you do don't start rubbing or picking at the skin since it will only make it look worse and damage your skin. Good luck!

I hadn't used BP before, but I had been using Azeliac acid for two weeks. When I first applied BP it didn't sting as I expected, so I thought my skin was tough enough to handle bigger amounts.

I use something similar to moisturizer. But after some hours I start seeing the white skin again. I guess I am going to have to decrease the BP around my mouth. The other areas seem okay.

Another weird thing that I noticed is that my skin has gone a lot darker. I was asked if I had gone to a tanning salon! Maybe it's just a big rash lol, but it looks good....

Well I think you should definitely cut back on the BP on your whole face not just your mouth.. If you avoid your mouth your skin will never get conditioned to the BP and when/if you break out around your mouth area you will just have the same irritation. Then increase the amount you use every week or so. Also you should make sure you are not having an allergic reaction to the product... BP is a bleaching product soyou should not be getting darker

Wow, my face looked awful tonight after washing. After it had dried I could barely open my mouth because it was so tight and dry, it would have cracked.

I just saw this page:

http://www.acne.org/finger.html

I remember watching a Dan's video and hearing "the more BP the better". I used LOTS of BP. Should I not use any BP at all for a while and let my skin recover or continue with much smaller amounts?

I'll try to take a picture of my face soon...

you need to ease yourself into the whole BP thing. start with a little and work yourself up. Don't use 2 full pumps like Dan does right off the bat. eassssse yourself into it. don't forget to use moisturizer!

I don't understand where this stigma on BP usage comes from o.O I started with alot and have never had these weird extreme dry cracked face issues... are you moisturizing ? if you aren't its pretty much why your face is being torn to shreds. My face was gross while on bp without using moisturizer, i had like a weird brown/reddish/olive complexion with heavy dryness which would eventually become oily. started moisturizing and my skin tone is pretty much perfect now. Overwashing and such is also quite bad unless you want to enhance the dryness =x.

Everyone is different and some people just can't use that much right off the bat. Its just like when you go to the Derm and he prescribes you say a retiond. You slowy ease yourself into it. You just don't jump into it using it everynight because not everyone can handle it. You must be one of the lucky ones.
