My doxy log

So far, it's been my third week so far. My skin's really redish & pimples have went minimum. I wished my scars went away, which would be nice. Doxycycline has been helping me a bit, my forehead's been clearer. My skin broke out a bit, but the pimple's are smaller,

let's see results later.. shall we : D

&*quick question, I was wondering while on doxy, should i pop the pimples, or should i leave them alone?

Obviously there will be some differing opinions on this, but I'd say DON'T pop them if at all possible. Popping pimples in any case puts bacteria all over the area and could lead to cysts or nodules. Scary stuff, right? More commonly you'll damage the surrounding tissue and make it more susceptible to pimples, and the original one you popped is likely to come back (you didn't give it enough time in the healing process).

Check out stoppickingonme.com for more information and some reading on the delicacy of the skin and how vital it is not to disrupt it.

If you get a zit that you feel is too painful not to pop (ie pain without touching/aggravating the area), consider calling your doctor or dermatologist. Depending on the severity of the problem they might do a cortisone injection and/or pop the pimple in a sterile environment.

Hope this helps, and if you want to support each other my thread is www.acne.org/messageboard/Mino-Duac-Tretinoin-t247079.html
