Initial Breakout after going Gluten-free?

So, a couple of weeks ago I decided to completely cut out gluten, dairy and grains from my diet. Since then I have noticed that I am not necessarily getting any NEW acne (which is great), but a lot of old acne is resurfacing. Spots that were maybe there a month ago and I thought were gone, are resurfacing. They are not as inflammed or big as when the first appeared, but they are still there. Has anybody had this experience, or any thoughts as to why this could be happening? My thought was that maybe my body had never really done the job in the first place, but now that it is functioning more properly due to my diet change that it is getting rid of the acne for real this time. I have no idea though. Thoughts/experiences are appreciated!

Have you added anything new to your diet after taking out dairy, gluten, and grains?

The only difference is now I eat more protein, vegetables, fruits and nuts. But, none of these are in incredibly high concentrations, as in over the recommended daily in-take.

As long as you aren't getting new acne I imagine that your skin is healing itself which is for the best. However, just because you don't eat over the recommended daily intake doesn't mean you aren't eating too much. Even a little dairy gives some people acne.
