Once a cyst goes away...

Recommended Posts

A few weeks ago I got a cyst right underneath my right nostril. It has since gone away, but the skin where the cyst was feels like it is elevated slightly. There is no visible scar, it's just the skin feels a bit "raised". I don't really know how to describe it. Has that every happened to anyone else? If so, how long does it take for the skin to "deflate"?

I know excatly what you are trying to describe. I get small ones if I eat dairy or bread near the corners of my mouth and the center of my jaw. Seems to take about 5 days for the tenderness to go away then a week or two for the "bump" to go away and not have a raised area. The ones I had were pretty small and seems to be caused by a food allergy and have no puss. Stopped eating that stuff and they went away almost completly.

once my cysts go away this happens sometimes also. i don't know where i heard this (or maybe i just made it up) but it's the cyst in, you could say, a remission of sorts. the cyst is still there just not inflamed. i've had these and on occassion they will reinflame.

i have a friend who gets one cyst in the same spot like once a year or so. i think it's the same sort of thing...
