How much red meat do I need for proper iron levels?

I'm not a big fan of red meat, but I do try to eat 4 oz once a week (grassfed) for the protein and also because sometimes I show symptoms of low iron levels (though my blood test was normal). Do you think 4 oz twice a month is sufficient? I much prefer salmon, then chicken, or no meat at all- but I do get 4 oz of either every day.

Just IMO, but twice a month likely is not enough to raise and maintain iron levels. I try to eat red meat (quality meat if available) once every few days or at least once a week. Also 4oz is a fairly small serving size by most layman's standards (although food guides do use that size as a serving); if you need to go with 4oz for one reason or another, I'd try to eat red meat a minimum of once a week, if not more.

Keep in mind too that red meat doesn't just mean beef. There is venison, buffalo/bison, elk, and lamb among others. These meats are usually raised more naturally as well and typically have higher nutrient values.
