50% Glycolic acid vs 50% Lactic Acid

Recommended Posts

Hi. I purchased a bottle of 30% Lactic Acid from Bravura London a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen any improvement yet. So I was thinking about buying a bottle of 50% lactic acid, but I was wondering if Glycolic acid works better? School starts soon, so I want to fade away my red marks as quickly as possible.

My skin isn't sensitive (I have left the 30% lactic acid on for 1 hour, and I couldn't feel anything, and my skin wasn't red at all), so it doesn't matter if the glycolic acid is rougher on the skin.

Thanks.

With most people, starting out with any % of Glycolic will purge your pores. My advice: either start out with a 5% GA product (or at least under 10%) OR be prepared to purge drastically. My 5% GA mask helped ready my skin, and I didn't have as severe a breakout... even though I am STILL healing! Ughhhhh. Acne is SO great, isn't it?!?!?!

I have a LA 50% peel right now, and 10% GA gel. The 10% peels my skin, so just take note. GA is stronger than LA, also, so it will have more peeling. My LA 50% doesn't make me peel at all! I'm just red for a few hours.
