I know this sounds stupid but is there a downside to having a high SPF in a sunscreen. Besides protection, what is the difference between a SPF 15 sunscreen compared to one that is spf 60?

Also is Mexoryl good do have in a sunscreen?

I am talking about L'Oreal Ombrelle Face SPF 60 with Mexoryl.

Does any one know if this sunscreen blocks the sun chemically or physically??

Thanks in advance.

The FDA is soon going to set a limit on how high SPF can go. It is going to be limited to 30 SPF I do believe. I saw a chart saying SPF 15 was above 90% protective and SPF 30 got a few more percentage points. Above that and the FDA doesn't seem to think you are any better off.
