Antibotics to treat acne?

Recommended Posts

I've been on the regimen for a few years now and while it works great, I still get pimples from time to time. Last week, I got a big sebacous cyst (spelling?) that appeared behind my neck and became infected. I went to the doctor and he prescribed some antibiotics (Novo-Cloxin) that I had to take for a week. Now the week is almost over and I don't have any pimple anywhere on my body, which has never happened. Should I go to a dermatologist and ask for a long-term prescription for antibiotics?

The only thing that worries me is that a few years ago, a dermatologist prescribed me some antibiotics and I had an allergic reaction. My entire body was red as a lobster so I had to stop taking it. Perhaps I'd have to ask about another kind of antibiotics?
