The Placebo Effect

So I was just rewatching Dan's daily video about zinc.

He says that while taking a zinc supplement was shown to provide 40% improvement in acne symptoms, that's not very impressive because placebo was 30%. I'm really curious as to how this works. Does this mean that we could just will our acne to go away? I don't mean that literally of course, but it's very interesting that someone's acne would clear up just because they think they're doing something that will work.

So stay positive, everyone! :)

Yeah the placebo effect is seen in almost any kind of health condition. The difference between just wishing your acne away is that it would be hard to convince yourself that actually works. As opposed to that, if a doctor gave you a sugar pill, you may think that is actual medicine and in a sense wish yourself into better health. Stress (as mentioned in the above post) is a common problem in most aliments so once you remove that a little bit, it is amazing what the results can be. Good luck!
