mconfessor 0 Posted July 17, 2009 Just a week ago, my skin was perfectly fine..save a random zit here and some post acne marks there. Well..... this week, my skin has decided to turn on me. it hasn't looked this terrible since the seventh grade all of these monsters first start off as what seems like a harmless pink pimple. But nope, in the next three-five days, they become disgustingly, painfully, evil zits and leaving scary marks everywhere. I wouldn't mind as much if it weren't so easy for me to get marks. The worst part is they don't heal as normally as they should, it feels like the top layer gets peeled off at some point (and i'm not scrubbing it either) and it gets all crusty and sometimes scabby. maybe it's because of the new acne cleanser bar i'm using from best bath store? i just went back to their site and here are the main ingredients: Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Hazelnut Oil, Castor Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sunflower Oil, Organic Manuka Honey, Seaweed Powder, White Willow Bark Extract, Australian Olive Green Clay, Vitamin E, Essential Oil Blend currently i'm washing twice/three x a day with the bbs acne bar, dan's bp, and olay complete moisturizer in the morning and dan's aha at night. I've been using the acne bar instead of neutrogena oil-free acne wash for about a couple of weeks.. What is wrong with my skin all of a sudden? pleasee help, my self-esteem is at an all time low and the only time i feel genuinely happy is after working out. last week: http://i26.tinypic.com/9694jq.jpg http://i28.tinypic.com/157zlex.jpg on the right in both pictures. this week: http://i28.tinypic.com/e654jb.jpg (yes.. that's a zit turned scab, not a mole unfortunately) http://i30.tinypic.com/10ekdpj.jpg http://i31.tinypic.com/acvfav.jpg oh please, oh please, oh please, clear skin, pleasee
yoyobarn 0 Posted July 17, 2009 hmm seems like the acne cleanser contains a lot of oil-based ingredients.. the acne bar seems to be meant for people with dry skin. If you have oily skin, the oil (sebum) you produce will be more than enough, and adding more oil will potentially result in clogged pores and hence induce acne. Maybe you could try an oil free cleanser and see it gets better.
mconfessor 0 Posted July 17, 2009 Thanks! i never thought of that.. i think my skin is pretty dry right now though.. And i'm going back to the Neutrogena Oil-Free acne wash, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully in a few weeks, my face'll clear up again
CCasey 0 Posted July 17, 2009 Probably the bar. I would drop the bar, and stick to washes once in the morning and then at night.
mconfessor 0 Posted July 17, 2009 yeah, i have a feeling it's the bar too :/ today my mom told me to 'slather on some carrots or some cucumber slices' on my face. and asked if i washed my face. hahahaha
Vicious Lyss 12 Posted July 17, 2009 I echo the bar thing. Our skin can be a mystery and works in interesting ways. I hate it But I hope you find something good soon
Weenie Beenie 0 Posted July 18, 2009 Just wanted to stop in to say that your skin doesn't look that bad in those pics. Your overall skin tone and complexion looks great.
mconfessor 0 Posted July 18, 2009 it's been about two days since i switched back to the wash and my skin feels pretty good actually, the bar was probably too harsh :/ there are new pimples but they're dying soon, so that's good news thankyou weeniebeenie!
