menthol and extrememly oily skin?

I heard menthol is not that good for your skin, but its in everything for oily skin... is it bad for just normal skin, or is it bad for oily skin as well?

It *can* be bad, in high amounts, if used too frequently, or in a formula that's too penetrating. It's frequently used as a counter-irritant - which can be helpful in treating inflamed acne as long as the application is limited.

Menthol is not good for your skin at all....

The reason why they put it in cosmetic acne products is because it makes your skin tingle, which makes you THINK that it is getting cleaned down to the pores, makes your skin feel refreshed and cool.

Really though, it's doing more harm than good. I would steer clear of anything topical that contains menthol, or anything that is non organic/natural.
