Benefits of Ice?

I have heard of using ice on pimples that are about to form and ones that are healing to reduce inflammation. I've done this, and it makes it feel better at least temporarily. Does it have any other benefits? Can icing my skin before applying BP help it to "sink in" better? Is that stuff about using water temperature to open and close pores complete BS?

Thanks in advance!

I use ice - I've learned that using it for too long can actually be counterproductive... I used to think that "more is more" so to speak but I found it made some worse cos I'd leave it on for like 5 minutes on 5 minutes off. The ideal time imo is 2 mins and apply products afterwards. Ice is anti-inflammatory and shrinks the pore a bit while it's being applied.

There is a tip in the DKR forum suggesting refrigerating BP also.

I have heard a number of positive remarks about using heat also - one thread which I can't find now saying that hot compresses (basically a paper towel in very warm to almost hot water applied for a couple of mins) three times a day was a cure....
