Dairy-free substitutes...

So I've decided to switch to a dairy-free (and mostly vegan) diet. I was hoping that these vegan dairy substitute products would make it easier for me to do so.

But I'm afraid that while they are healthier than the real thing, they will still cause me problems.

Things like the vegan cheese or cream cheese, or the soy milk or ice cream. I know the debate on soy goes back and forth but I was wondering if anyone can give me some of their own personal experiences.

How about coconut milk, or the ice cream and yogurt made from it? It seems like a better alternative to soy milk or ice cream.

I'm on the no soy side of the debate, it doesn't agree with my system. I've found that hemp products are a great alternative (hemp milk, protein powder... etc). It is one of the only other complete proteins.
