doxy and tretinoin perscriptions--worth filling?

hi, i went to a new dermatologist yesterday and i'm generally not sure how i feel about the visit. it felt very rushed and generic. she barely looked at my face and seemed like she was giving me her usual rundown of suggestions when people go in for adult acne.

i'm 26 and have had moderate/severe acne since college. lately i've been having painful cysts and i tried to explain that to her, but she didn't seem to hear me much at all. i've tried doxycycline once before and it was working slightly, but had to go off because my insurance ran out haha.

so i'm ready to start again because over-the-counter things have not been working. i'm just wondering if she gave me a good combination of products. here is what she gave me perscriptions for:

doxycycline 2x a day (i dont remember the dosage)

ziana (clindamycin phosphate 1.2% and tretinoin .025%) for night

evoclin (clindamycin phosphate foam 1%) for the morning

any ideas? thank you!

haha, yes that is how my derm is too. most of them are like that

the latest she has me trying is this:

doxycyline 200mg daily

atralin (tretinion)

benzyol peroxide

aczone (forgot the generic name)

although i wont lie, i don't use the gels often, just the BP in the shower and the doxy and once in a while the gels

good luck
