Alpha Lipoic Acid

I think you can rarely go wrong with taking a nutrient with food as you are meant to get them together with other nutrients in food. The only concern would be taking something with a lot of a food that contains a lot of a substance that binds to it, like grains binding metals.

Also, generally you need to take fat soluble nutrients like E with fats, therefore with food. But Lipoic Acid is both fat and water soluble.

Do I take it with food or on an empty stomach? Couldn't find the answer online.

I've taken it with food, but I'm not sure it really matters.
