salicylic acid better for preventing?

Recommended Posts

Theoretically, SA is supposed to be better. SA is supposed to work by exfoliating the build-up of dead cells within the pores, the same cells that clogs the pores, sealing in bacteria and causing acne.

However, we all know that in reality SA does not do its job as good as it is supposed to, because if it did, no one that use SA should still have acne. But they do!!!

So I would say stick with BP and probably use SA once or twice a week if you absolutely have to.

I agree with Molly, everyone has different "reactions" to it..

in my case, all the products I've used have SA.. and I've actually only tried a BP product once

and it dried my skin off and broke me out :(

So, maybe your skin will have a positive reaction with any of those two ingredients.!

I'd say try SA first since it is in almost every anti-acne product..!
