Is Differin going to reduce my oil secretion?

I have mild/ moderate acne, and a very very oily skin.

My cheek and the area below the nose are red, even without using anything.

And the areas mentioned above are where my ance concentrated.

I prescribed tretinoin since 1st march this year, and i experience a very bad outbreak.

But there is no significant improvement, so I swich to Differin 2weeks ago.

Can Differin reduce oil? And turn my red oily face heathy?

I can not tolerate oil anymore...

I can't answer for anyone but myself, but no topical (Differin, Finacea, Tazorac, Retin-A, Clindamycin, Ziana, Klaron, Vanoxide) has ever managed to reduce my oiliness. Some bought me an hour or so before I got oily, but nothing I put on top of my face prevented the oil from streaming out of my pores. As far as I know, Accutane is the only drug that will make the glands stop producing oil.

with the little knowledge i have of acne i know it is virtually impossible to get rid of oil or stop oiliness. if achieved i doubt it will be a good thing. our skin produces oil naturally to combat dryness among other things. what you CAN do is not dry out your skin and take supplements like cod liver oil (fish oil) to make sure your skin does not have to over produce. when you have shine, go simple and strightforward; wipe it off (not wash). Trust me, apart from Benzoyl Peroxide (which is just a temporary relief anyway) NOTHING can stop oil production.
