Do these condiments generally cause acne?

Recommended Posts

Do things like fermented foods or sauces from fermented foods cause acne in some of you guys?

For example pure tamari and fish sauce?

Also, would rice wine or sake cause acne? I would assume it would but if I used it in small amounts for asian sauces when stir frying does anyone see any problems occuring?

**BTW** I'm not asking if these will cause me acne, I'm just wondering if they can possibly cause bad breakouts like sugary foods or gluten or etc.

thanks

There aren't many ingredients which is why I ask.

These aren't typical sauces you go and buy at a supermarket (if they were I wouldn't be asking because pretty much any commercial condiment is no good for acne) besides the fish sauce

Rice wine can be made at home as well as dashi and I believe miso can be made at home too by fermenting soy beans.

Dashi is a japanese stock made from dried tuna and sea veggies.

Well you've just listed the ingredients lol.

These will cause you acne if you have intolerances to grains/soy/fish.

Also rice wine may have a high GI rating.

I find personally any spices or sauces from the nightshade family will cause me acne because I've got an allergy towards them.

Well, you don't usually use fish sauce straight. Its an extremely nasty salty thing that gets prepared with a ton of added sugar. In which case, it's not good for acne.
