Dans BP's is burning like crazy

So I just bought my starter kit and the BP (1 pump) burns when applying than stops after 10-20 mins , but when I apply the moisturizer after that it burns continuously through the whole day.

I am not alergic to BP as I have used it before.

The numbers at the bottom of my bottle are 9007

Ex 01 11

Dan or Brandy can you please check for me if this is a irregular batch or something :)

thanks

Hi! Try the following link that will help you pinpoint the issue:

http://www.acne.org/regimenadvice.php

Also read: http://www.acne.org/whattoexpect.html

and http://www.acne.org/faq.html#burn

http://www.acne.org/faq.html#moisturizer-sting

Almost any moisturizer will sting sometimes, even on un-BP treated skin; it's just a fact of the formulation of almost all moisturizers. I know it is not part of the regimen, but petrolatum jelly applied in a tiny film at night can really help reduce the redness and stinging. Use it instead of the moisturizer at night, a few nights a week. It is not comedogenic, it won't clog pores and it is soothing.

You might have to up your moisturizer use, cut back on BP for a bit, and slowly increase the amount of BP you use.

I agree with Wynne. It's very common in the beginning for the moisturizer, any moisturizer, to feel a bit sting-y especially when your skin is new to using bp. Be sure you are waiting the full 10-15 mins. after the bp before you apply the moisturizer. Some people have noticed more stinging when they don't wait long enough.

I tried Dan's BP yesterday and it burned like a mofo for me too, which has never happened before. I only used 1 pump and it was more or less the same amount of 5% BP (Benzac brand) I've been using prior to this. Now my skin is red all over again so I'm pretty much starting from scratch. *sigh*

anyway, good luck Martin!

I know smadgirl its crazy.

I tried my friends BP gel which expires sometime in '10 , and it diidnt burn at all.

I really think their is something wrong with this batch of 01/11 BP gels , cause lots of people are complaining and having the same issues as me.

thats what im thinking.

If we can get more people to express how they reacted to the newer batch (01/11) maybe Dan would be able to send us refunds since I really want clear skin!
