cortisone shots @ the derm's office...

Recommended Posts

recently i had a flare after a prolonged period of having little to no new acne. i'm still trying to figure out what caused the flare, but i'm beginning to suspect it was something that was not really that i could control i.e., change in diet, not washing face enough, etc...i find that once every other month or some period of time, i get these flares. it always comes as 2-3 papules that become inflamed and turn into pustules...

today i went to the derm's office and he gave me a shot of cortisone on 2 of my pimples...this was at 5 pm and it's 10 pm now...does cortisone work immediately after it is injected or is there like a 24 hr window or something that I should wait?

this was my 1st time getting such a shot so i am a little unsure of what to expect, what to do, etc...

please, anyone who has had prior experience, leave input. thank you so much!
