Fraxel and the sun

Recommended Posts

I heard you are supposed to avoid direct sun exposure for 3 months after treatment!! Who the hell is gonna do that!! Become a pale hermit after fraxel laser. I am gonna be at the lake almost every weekend this summer. Guess I am no Fraxel candidate.

opps, I just got sunburnt today a week after my fraxel treatment. Oh well I guess we will see if I get dark brown spots all over.

Anyone with scarring should be using a physical sunscreen on their faces every day imo. Use a 'sunless'/ fake tan.

The more your wear a physical sunscreen containing somthing like zinc oxide, the better the results from scar revision will be. Not only that but you will preserve your results much longer aswell. The sun is the main cause of photoaging and wrinkling. Your scarring will get worse and at a much greater rate in your later years if you have alot of unprotected sun exposure.

Who said anything about unprotected sun exposure? If I am gonna be in the sun for a while, I always use Coppertone Spf 8. It works great keeping me from getting burned.
