Yuminator 0 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I remember Dan saying that benzoyl peroxide kills 99% of acne causing bacteria in one of his videos. if its that effective, how come it doesn't seem to heal some people?

Black Beaute 1 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I think a lot of people give up. There are a lot of common mistakes people make...too.. Well acne is unique to each person. What works for me may not work for you. In addition, with people giving up too fast it at times simply will not work for some people. The key is finding what works well for you and sticking to it. adamrodriguez 1 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I remember Dan saying that benzoyl peroxide kills 99% of acne causing bacteria in one of his videos. if its that effective, how come it doesn't seem to heal some people? because acne is basically a deficiency in lipid formation, acne is a skin disorder. When the skin is damaged is when bacteria and oil get into the lower parts of the epidermis creating red bumps and cystic acne. When your face looks really shiney (im talking excessivly shiny with oil on your face, we all have a slight shine on our face) this is when bacteria starts to grow on the face creating blemishes. Your skin needs to be healthy, in the right balance of hydration, a normal epidermis is about 10%-15% WATER so you need to get back that proper balance in order to see any glimmer of clear and non-excessively oily skin. Being aware of PH in whatever touches your face (be it water, soap, cleansers) is also key in maintaining a healthy skin.
