Are you seeing results with B5? If so don't switch.

900mg's is roughly 8g's of B5, I found this cool conversion chart... but I'm tired as hell from work today so if you want to see it just search on google for it. Anyway, you'll only want to go on 900 for maintenance after the acne is gone. I would reccomend starting at 1200mg's. And don't worry, it's perfectly safe. You won't even need a B-complex or anything like that.

And BTW, 900mg's is usually prescribed to help lower cholestoral. So there are no dangers of using that much, or a little more.

No there is no hairloss with pantethine. However, to help the current state of your hair. Go on Biotin. It promotes healthy hair. Many people on B5 use it to prevent hair loss.

Yes 5mg's should be fine to use. In fact, many brands sell 5mg capsules. Many of Swanson's Biotin are 5mg caps.

i think actually u will find that b5 does not make your hair fall out at all. its not that ur taking too much b5 (which has been scientifically proven to b harmless) but that u arent taking enough of the other b vitamins and so it is the b vitamin deificiency that is causing your hair to fall out. you really should follow the b5 instructions properly and teake enough b complex, and not just some sub standard vits they need to be high quality, both the b5 and the complex. rolleyes.gif

Yes the main problem is the depletion of other B-Vitamins, which is why anyone taking B5 is STRONGLY urged to invest in Biotin and a B-Complex.

i really hate to burst everyones bubble on b5.. but you all are WAY off on your theory about it 'depleting' other vitamins causing hairloss... i have gone to top specialists to find out why.. an the reason is.. b5 works as an 'anti androgen' an anytime you block androgens you can get a 'hyper androgenetic' result. meaning that if u block the androgen.. it can bounce back worse.. that is why u lose hair from it.. a hyper androgenicity reaction that can be permenant.. im aware b5 works.. it worked beautifully for me.. till my hair began to fall out in masses.. i really hate acne.. but i really loved my hair sad.gif im just letting people know this because i would have given anything for someone to tell me what could seriously happen from that stuff.. but the sad reality is.. once u get hairloss from it.. it is irreversible in most cases.. so please.. everyone considering this.. weigh the pros an cons... is it really worth losing your hair? :-(

It's a double-edged sword in this case. Just like accutane there are a great many things to consider. However, hair-loss is a rare case for B5, and taking Biotin is said to lower risk even further. Personally, B5 was never worth it too, after about a month of taking twenty pills a day, I completely gave up on it.

Pantethine, Gugulipids, and Akne Zyme. All supposedly will lower my oil production, but I've seen very minimal results thus far. It's been a little under a month though, so I'm still hopeful.
