Red Blotches

With about one month left in my accutane cycle I started to get these random red blotches on my face. That was about 1 1/2 years ago and I am still getting them. They appear to look like a bug bite and they even itch like one, with a small bump in the middle of the blotch. However, after about an hour they disappear. They most commonly occur after I get out of the shower but sometimes appear out of nowhere during the day. I asked my derm during my last visit on tane and he said it was due to my dry skin. Here we are 1 1/2 years later and still the same.

Any suggestions as to what it may be? Can't complain too much since I've been practically acne free since tane

It's not really a constant redness. The closest thing I could compare it to is a bug bite. It comes and goes really.

Maybe wrong forum? I posted in the accutane forum hoping someone had a similar condition but I got no response.

I get those too. They look like exectly bug bites - not at all like pimples. I have no idea what they are. They itch like crazy and then go away within hours or they will show up at night and in the am they will be gone.

It has been two years since I went off Accutane. Since I went off I have had a horrible time keeping my skin moisturized. Your derm's repsonse seems sort of too simple. But, I do know that since Accutane I have huge problems with blotchiness and itchiness and this all stem from dry patches of skin.

Tell me - can you tell when these are going to pop up? I notice that I get a small flat area of redness, and then bam one of those "bug bites" appear only to go away a bit later.

Sorry I cannot tell you what it is - I can only tell you that you are not alone!
