Will swimming in a pool of chlorine be bad for my skin while on accutane?

Recommended Posts

Yes yes and yes it really makes my skin awful. I do a lot of swimming and i think its one of the main causes of my acne.

Its very important to get the chlorine off your face as soon as possible after you leave. Bring face wipes or whatever you feel is suitable to get it off :)

i would suggest you still swim, theres nothing wrong with that, just not too often. my Derm didnt say anything about swimming, so i would, when you come out, take a full shower to get the chlorine off your skin.

Thats the best option if you wish to swim.

Be sure you shower after swimming using lukewarm (not hot) water to keep from further drying out your skin. If you can carry moisturizer with you, apply it after your shower. That will help the chlorine not dry out your skin.
