my v-beam, fraxel restore, and total FX Treatments

Recommended Posts

Hello so yet again, I though that I would share my scar treatment experience. I am not sure if anyone cares but I thought I would post them anyway.

So me and the derm decided to go with the v-beam treatment for redness and fraxel restore for the scarring. I am doing the v-beam today and the fraxel on friday the 13th. I have already had about 24 smoothbeam, v-beam combos and they did help a little but I also had very active acne when we were doing the treatments. I have also done a TCA peel and yag laser peel with very little results. I was going to do the fraxel repair but I am just to afraid.

I have mostly rolling scars, a few ice picks, and a ton of red marks. My before is in my gallery I will probably post all my pictures there and of course I will label them. Anyway, let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the good luck wishes.

The v-beam really didn't do anything, but I really didn't expect it to. Anyway on to my fraxel restore experience. This morning I had to apply a numbing cream about an hour and a half before I got the procedure done. It wasn’t too bad, I had to put the cream up into my hairline which has made my hair all gross but other then that it just feels like I’ve have a cavity filled that just happen to be all over my face. The actual laser took about 45 minutes and actually wasn’t that painful. They had a cooling machine blowing on me the whole time so I barley felt anything, although I do have a really high tolerance for pain so I’m sure that helped, but overall I have experienced much more painful things. He did 8 passes all over my face, I think he set it at 10 something, and then he went back over my cheeks twice at 20 something, then he said we had to stop because I was getting to red. They gave me biafine and put 70 spf sunscreen on me, and gave me valtrex and sent me on my way. All and all this wasn’t to bad, I am not in pain at all, I just look awful.

Here is my picture 1 hour out. http://img02.picoodle.com/img/img02/3/3/13...23m_d231c39.jpg.

Good luck, I hope you get the results you hope for. You look beautiful in your gallery photos, though. :)

I thought I would do a quick update, but nothing has really changed. I look the same as in my pictures, still pretty red.

Hey everyone thought I would do a quick update. So I am about 3 days post and I am still a little red. Now I am starting to flake, not peel just flake a little. I am starting to notice some results but it could just be the swelling still so we will see. I will upload pictures if anyone is intrested in seeing them.

Here are my pictures, this is no makeup on and I am still a little red. Left cheek, http://img01.picoodle.com/img/img01/3/3/17...26m_e8cfc40.jpg

Right cheek .

There is a small improvement but not much, I really think most of the swelling has gone down and I have completely peeled so these are probably my results. I am going to do another on April 10 and then we are planning on doing the Co2 in may if I don't like to results from my second treatment.

Since he is only charging me 300 dollars for the Co2 I will probably do it just for the sake of doing it but we will see.

Is Co2 the fraxel laser? Where do you stay at? $300 sounds like a steal. Goodluck by the way.

Quick update. It has been about a month since I had my fraxel and I am breaking out like crazy. I can't get it under control, even with my diet. My next treatment is April 10th so I guess we will see what happens.

After right cheek

You can see my before photos in my earlier posts and in my gallery. I see some improvement but I am still not happy with the results, although I feel like i look significantly better. So I am still planning on doing the Co2 in may so I will let everyone know how that goes.

I mean this in the kindest way possible - What are you trying to achieve?

I look at your 'before pictures' and I don't see any scarring! I look at your pictures now and I still don't see anything! Your skin is beautiful! Not a blemish!

So I am completely peeled and here are my results.

thanks, I guess I am trying to achieve perfection. I know my scarring isn't as bad as other people on the board but it is still really bothering me. I guess my scars are just not coming out on the photos. I know people notice them though, about a week ago I was discussing allergies with a donor and I told him I was allergic to the cillin family of antibiotics and he said oh that is too bad because taking an antibiotic would probably help your face. Then Friday I went to work after my 2nd fraxel and this donor asked me if I was sun burnt and I said no I just had a laser treatment done to which she said oh that is good, you needed it although, a little sun would do your skin a lot of good. So it is obvious that people are noticing the scars, it is just not something that i notice. Maybe I will try to take better pictures.

hmph. You don't have to post pictures to show how 'bad' it is! I've seen most of the pictures that you have posted (not a stalker ;) ) - and I don't know which scars particularly upset you. Save your $$! its a recession!

Again to clarify when you say CO2 you mean the newest Fraxel Re:pair. Wow if you can get it done for that cheap go for it. I called around and everyone here is charging $5 grand!!! I was so depressed after I heard that and don't think I will ever have better skin. :(

You look just like I did after my Fraxel treatments but I had it done years ago when they still used the blue dye. Keep it up and be patient. I didn't see much improvement until a year after my last treatment! It takes a lot of time for collagen to produce enough for us to notice and be satisfied.

Keep us updates if you do the Re:pair, I so want to have this done.

Yeah it is the Fraxel Repair, sorry I guess I should be more clear. I talked to him about the price and he said that he wanted to undercut everyone so he gets more business. If your willing to travel I highly recommend go to him. I will keep you updated, it is coming up fast and I am getting a little nervous but I will let everyone know how it goes.

So today is the day of my Fraxel Repair, I am really nervous but really excitied at the same time. I am getting the procedure done at 2:15 this afternoon. All we are using is the numbing cream, no Valium or anything like that so I am interested to see how that goes. Anyway, I'll be sure to post some more after the procedure.

Here of course are my before pictures.

I am really sorry but it was actually the total fx i had done. I really thought it was the fraxel repair but come to find out it was the total fx. I am not sure how they are different but I'm really sorry to disappoint anyone that wanted to see repair results.

The procedure itself was not to bad, I really couldn't feel anything. I expected to be crying when i got out of the office but it was really painless. They did the deep fx on my cheeks and then the active fx all over my face. I am not completely sure of my setting all I know is that I did a density of 10. I am not in any pain at all so hopefully it stays that way.

Here are a few pictures about an hour out.

You look like I did after my Fraxel restore...I dont think this was anywhere near as severe as what the Re:pair would have done to you. I really dont know much about the FX but it don't think think it is the same as the Re:pair. Good luck though!!! Thanks for keeping us informed.

At first I looked like I did after the restore, but now I look way different. I can see tiny lines of dots in my skin and am turning brown in a few places. I am really itchy and sore, i really couldn't live without the aquaphore right now. This will probably be my last post for a while because I am starting chemistry tomorrow but I will post my results or if my appearance changes, and if anyone has any questions just ask.

you can't really see much in the photos just redness, I tried to get the lines but they don't show up to well in photos.
