HOW I GOT CLEAR!!

Ok, I know it isn't following Dan's regime exactly but his just irritated my sensitive, extremely acne-prone skin. So for anyone who needs help w/ finding good products for their regime can look off mine if they wish. As hopefully it will help someone! smile.gif

Morning

________

Wash w/ neutrogena's facial bar (normal face one, not sensitive skin one)

Lightly pat face dry w/ towell

Use Clearasil's Pore Cleansing Pads (the one w/ aloe, it says aloe on it)

Wait for face to dry

Apply bp (brand doesn't matter, but I've always used a 10% gel) to all of face

Take a q-tip and apply blobs of bp over zits and any other imperfections

Wait for it to slightly dry (about 5-15 min.)

Lightly rub the blobs into the area they were placed on

Apply Olay Total Effects 7x to entire face (w/ vitaNiacin) *The visible anti-aging vitamin complex that's fragrance-free

Night

_______

Wash with neutrogena's facial bar

Lightly pat face w/ towell

Use Aspirin toner (the one on MUA)

Let face dry

Use bp (brand doesn't matter, but I've always used 10%) on entire face

Take a q-tip and apply blobs of bp over zits and any other imperfections

Wait for it to slightly dry (about 5-15 min.)

Lightly rub the blobs into the area they were placed on

Apply Vasaline (brand doesn't matter) to entire face

Hmmmm, how does Dans regimen irritate you more than the one your currently on when is calls for 2.5%b and your using 10% over your entire face and putting "mountains" of BP on the actual pimple.

I like the vaseline thing though, i just started to apply it at night.

they are treating each blemish individually...I've always used 10% bp gel. What I meant by Dan's regime not working for me is the products he recommended for the cleanser and moisturizer burn my skin!

I have sensitive, fair but oily skin. I found for me what cleared me up was putting less frictiion on my face, using NO washrag but a gentle wash. And I put the Niacinimide Cream or gel which I got at a compounding pharmacy on each individual zit as it emerged, esp. the cystic ones, and it took care of them easily. Now I am acne free for a year or more, just an occasional monthly pimple. Of course, I did the internal route with a naturopathic school, so both helped.

Hope that helps a little,

Karen aka Newcastlegirl
