BP and clogged pores

Recommended Posts

I've been using BP for about a year now, but recently I've developed several clogged pores and I'm wondering if it could be due to the BP that I'm using? One of it's ingredients is Laureth-4, which I've read can clog pores. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I'm not sure why, either, but I do have some clogged pores from doing the regimen and didn't have them before I started. My theory isn't that my BP is comedogenic (though that might be the case for the BP you're using). What I think might be the situation is that before I started using BP, if any of my pores become clogged, they turned into inflamed bumps fairly quickly (before they even appeared as non-inflamed bumps) from the acne bacteria accumulating and releasing the toxins that cause inflammation. Now that I'm using BP, these clogged pores aren't turning into inflamed bumps because BP is killing the acne bacteria, but the BP isn't unclogging my pores, so what would have become a big ugly red pimple without BP is just a tiny colorless bump with BP. I've had decent results using salicylic acid along with BP to get rid of some of these colorless bumps, though not perfectly. They're so minor that I don't want to spend a lot of effort to try to get rid of them and end up making my skin worse, though.

I thought about using salicylic acid for them but I thought it might aggrivate the problem, what kind of salicylic acid are you using?

^ Dan's. It's still in the feedback from testers stage and you can buy a tube for testing through the secret link here. I like the product a lot and it's helped with the cloggy bumps, but not perfectly.
