Water...the cure to dryness??

Recommended Posts

Does drinking a good amount of water every day (like at least 24 ounces) help with dry/flaky skin? It kind of makes sense because the more your body is hydrated, the more your skin is also right? Anybody have any ideas. Could drinking water substantially help with dry flaky skin?

Of course. Water is essential for a healthy body, mind, and skin.

You should try and drink 8 glasses a day.

Example - I had dry and flakey elbows. When I began to drink water, my elbows became smooth and healthy.

These are just personal observations on skin dryness:

-washing in water that is too hot

-washing for too long or being too rough

-going out in cold, dry weather shortly after washing

-not getting enough fat

I don't feel that drinking water helps alleviate dry skin unless you've been chronically dehydrated.
