A while back, I did a lot of research and talked to my doctor about BCP and acne. And while I am no expert, I found out that BCP works differently on everyone.

YAZ and Ortho etc. may be approved/marketed for acne, but some people experience worsening acne on them, or no change at all. Still others experience clear skin on a pill that no one has ever heard about/not popular for treating acne. This is because certain companies pay for clinical studies and choose to market the pills a certain way. All birth control has the ability to affect the skin in SOME people. It is just a matter of finding what is right for you. I was told that the key is a progestin with low androgenic activity- but I guess the combination of hormones varies from person to person.
