seborrheic dermatitis on scalp

So its taken my doctors freaking years to figure out that I have seborrheic dermatitis. My hair has thinned down considerably (went from being able to make many thick braids, to one thin braid). My scalp turns red, and burns sometimes. Also flaking is really common for me, with of course itchiness. But I don't know what to do or use to make it get better. We tried tar shampoo and some tropical oils that just irritated my skin more.

Does anyone else suffer from this? Or did?

What do you or did you do for it?

Nizoral and especially Vicky Dercos Anti-Dandruff Shampoo worked pretty well. But, the problem still persisted.

My dermatologist prescribed a glucocorticoid lotion called Valisone which I apply when things go really badly. This had worked very well with a ring of dandruff I had on my crown that persisted no matter what I used.

However, before trying all this, try the teatree oil+apple cider vinegar method. It has helped me a lot.
