How effective is a cortisone injection for a cyst?

Recommended Posts

I have what I think is a pretty large cyst on my cheek. It has been inflamed and painful for about a week now, although it had been under my skin but hardly noticable for a couple of months. It is about marble sized and a deep red almost purple color and extremely painful. I have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow morning but it wasn't originally for an injection, do you think she will give me one anyway? Are cortisone injections usually effective? I've never had one, and I know about the possibility of indentation but I'm okay with that, I just can't handle the throbbing pain any longer!

Injections are great..get one! They take away any cyst usually within 12-14 hours. They look a little more swollen when you have an injection. So I usually get mine done in the afternoon afterwork then when I wake up ...its about GONE. You can get as many injections on your face for one price. I usually call the morning I notice one and my derm squeezes me in bc it only takes a second. I have had several done like 7 before I started taking accutane. None have left indentions. Good luck
