white flakes question

Hi all, new here and to acne ... I have inflamed acne, almost no whiteheads and no blackheads. My derm gave me Differin 0.3% and saicylic acid.

But my problem is after using Differin and the acid for two weeks, my skin is starting to generate lots of white flakes, mainly around my chin. How do I get rid of this? I tried just washing it off, and even got so mad with it I scrubbed my skin so hard that my acne just got worse in that general area.

A month before I started using them both I washed my face daily and kept it clean. So why is it coming back?

Thanks in advance...

Microfiber Cleansing cloths are awesome for getting rid of dry flakes. I cannot scrub either, as it makes my acne worse and very red and irritated. The dollar store was selling microfiber cleansing face cloths (3 for a $1!!) but Walmart might have them too. If you really want to invest in a good cloth. Do a google search for Miracle Cloth. It's the bomb. Takes off everything, flakes, dirt, debris, makeup in a flash, no irritation.
