the caveman regimen

Recommended Posts

I think you have to give it more than a week or so...i'm on day 15 i think...and its up and down but it seems to be working over all..i'm definitely giving it another couple weeks before i make my decision. Hang in there!

Ok I definitely want to encourage people to hang in there at least a month. I almost quit because around the two week mark, I started breaking out (small surface ones) all over my forehead. I panicked because it was so bumpy and it looked so congested. So then of course I picked at it amd it looked terrible and I got really depressed. BUT, I was determined to stick it out a few more days and not pick...its been magically clearing suddenly. I'm on day 20. I wipe my face with green tea everyday after I work out amd use a tiny bit of spot concealer and I wash my face with a mild soap every 4 days or so. I almost gave up. Right when you feel like giving up, just try to make yourself stick it out a few more days. You might be surprosed to find you're almost at the turning point. Be patient amd don't freak out at the break out around day 14

Just an update, in case anyone is still reading this thread; my skin looks FABULOUS. I have NO active acne at the moment and my forehead is totally clear. Just a few old marks on my cheeks bt those are fading too...this is amazing. I'm on day 24

Gosh, i can't believe I've made it something like 36 days! ...however, my skin isn't perfectight now. I've noticed that my old trouble spots statred to act up. It was almost like pimples popped up under the old acne marks on my cheeks...i'm hoping they're done or almost done...other than that, everything else is going ok. I think it will take several months for my skin to be perfect. I'm struggling with wanting to do SOMETHING lol. I was a girl that loved her facemasks and skin rituals lol. So im tempted to still throw in a gentle clay mask occasionally...i don't know

I guess it was just purging because its ALL gone now!! Geez i guess its been 6 weeks now. I'm sticking with this forever. My final regimen:

Once a day/every other day splash face with water or wipe with green tea

Fridays: very gentle Moroccan Rhassoul clay

Rhassoul clay is like bentonite clay, just more gentle, it doesn't dry the skin at all. Its pricey, but it should last awhile because i'm only using it once a week. I mix it with rose water or acv

Tuesdays: Gently exfoliate with sponge and very very mild soap. I don't even know what this soap is, a friend brought it back from Taiwan, but i do not need a moisturizer after using it. My skin feels smooth and soft after...of course i'm only using it once a week, so that might be why lol.

I use NO moisturizer EVER except a teeny drop of vit C serum only under my eyes.

So I'm practically doing nothing, just one washing a week, and one mask, staggered so my skin is getting cleansed every 3/4 days amd its going GREAT!!!! I'm super happy. I wish more people would come around these posts again because it DOES work...at least for alot of ppl...and me lol. And i was terrified to try it and almost gave up at day 14 and again around day 28 or 30...but now on day 42 or so, the purging is over, not more spots, no congestion, just smooth skin and a few fading marks

SUCCESS!!!!!

I have been doing the hardcore caveman method for three weeks... But have yet to develop a dead skin mask.

My skin is on the oily side, from over using chemicals on my face. At least, I think so. I never had oily skin until the last couple of years, and everyone in my family, both mom and dad's side, have really dry, acne free skin.

Could the oil on my skin be preventing the dry skin mask? However, the oil production has decreased tons in the last 3 weeks. So I'm somewhat concerned that I am doing something wrong. Maybe because I practically sleep with my face in my pillow... Could that be removing the dry skin?

I know people haven't posted on here in a looooong while, but did anyone ever stick with this long enough to see if it got rid of their clogged pores?

I have started this natural regimen from 3 days...have been splashing water(RO water) & letting it air dry....once or twice a day...i have acne prone skin, dehydrated skin all coz of washing with cleansers, using face masks, scrubs,BP,antibiotics & such..2day is the third day & i dint wash my face..no new acne formed, very tiny whitehead on my chin which usually gets inflamed & grows big has been the same...skin is not oily...reading all about caveman regimen here on the forums...thankful for all the info thats posted here..my diet is clean, vegan hclf & oil free..high protein foods & fatty foods cause me to break out so i avoid them...keeping my fingers crosssed...

I waz gently wipin my face with a towel to remove excess oil & it accidentally removed the dry scab of a whitehead & the pore was open...so I jz splashed filtered cold water on my face & let it air dry...but today morning I see that theres no open pore...the skin has sealed itself overnite !!! Redness is reducing(i had a breakout from OCM using baby oil & vaseline.) Its so freeing not to use any products anymore other than filtered water once a day...theres one small whitehead on the chin,& the beginning of 2 new pimples on my chin, its not red/inflamed,will see how this goes...im 40,f,n my skin is acneprone...

The other pimple purged out its contents & is slightly red & still small...one of the scabs from acne due to OCM came off in the noon...no new acne other than that....today i ate some spicy pilaf with green peas(always used to get acne from peas & legumes)for lunch, now gotta see if my skin reacts the same when not washing it...

A few scabs from the Ocm acne came off today...ate some trigger foods today & yesterday to see if my skin still reacts the same on a 'water only regimen.' So far no highly inflamed acne...all the acne are healing away...got a new spot but its skin hued so thats not a problem for me...mild acne is so much better than huge inflamed acne...juz one new acne...it must be from the spicy pilaf i ate with green peas...& today I ate spicy tomato soup...so just checkin if my skin breaks out bad....also i used tap water today just to see if it triggers acne in me...went out today so washed my face with water only & patted with a towel & let the damp skin air dry....so today i have washed my face(tap water only)twice...

Day 8 - no new acne,no cystic acne despite eating trigger foods like legumes, seeds,& cooked fat....i was avoiding them from so many years :( only small whiteheads on nose & chin....skin sometimes itchy...using tap water only to wash my face...also the acne from OCM is healed 80% only one cystic pimple from OCM has transformed into a whitehead...& its small...so no problem...on day 15 ill be able to confirm my acne from trigger foods...lets see if I break out or not...

Day 9 - one new spot turned into a whitehead(on my cheek)...i was expecting this to turn into a painful cystic acne as im eating trigger foods almost everyday...glad its only a small whitehead...yet ill wait till day 15 to see if i break into cystic acne or not all the while eating trigger foods...this regimen is so liberating :)))) also there was some slight flaking on my forehead...i gently removed them with a wet washcloth...i see nothing on my forehead this morning:)(:

Day 10 - no major acne except for a few whiteheads here & there...if i do get a spot it transforms into a whitehead pretty soon...washing with tap water once or twice a day as I like it..tap water hasnt caused any dryness in my skin...if it gets too oily i just mop it gently with a washcloth...another thing i hv obsrvd is that when using 2.5% BP it used to darken my spots, now thats not happening & the whiteheads heal well...

Day 11 - no new acne...xcept fr a small spot under my eye...no cystic acne....all are turning into whiteheads & healing well..slight flaking on my forehead...i gently removed them with a wet washcloth...still eating trigger foods & no breakouts from them...i usually get acne after 3-4 days of eating trigger foods...i have read on this site that an acne takes 3 weeks to form..lets hope im clear even after 3 weeks...this will be such a freedom no avoiding foods coz they cause acne...

I have a red spot right in betwn my eyebrows...dont kno if this will turn cystic or turn into a whitehead...this looks bad...looks like i have to avoid high protein foods after all...how annoying is this :( im 40 for heavens sake...how long will acne torture me...so tired of it all...

Some dead skin waz removed from lower right cheek by washcloth...this deadskin mayb also be from the neutrogena face scrub which has salicylic cid in it...i was using it prior to starting this regimen...

Day 13 - 2 spots on the chin, havent subsided but they are also not angry red cystic painful ones...they are pink in color...still eating high protein foods..i used to avoid eating them for the fear of cystic acne...like a bunch of them....so inspite of eating hi protein foods m not breaking into bad cystic acne...thats a gud thing happening..no other spots on face...

Washing with tap water...modified a bit...i splash water on my face n gently massage with fingers & rinse then pat dry with a towel...i take care to see that i dont irritate my skin...sometimes i let my face airdry sometimes i pat dry...skin isnt excessively oily or dry...
