Vitamin E Skin Oil 12,000 I.U. for red marks

Recommended Posts

I just bought some Spring Valley Vitamin E Skin Oil from Wal-Mart today. I heard Vitamin E was good for red marks and not so good for acne (however, Proactiv's doing fine for my acne). Here's what the ingredients say: Soybean Oil, Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate), Coconut Oil. I guess it's not pure Vitamin E, is it? The red marks are actually fading a little from the horrible July breakout, but I want to speed up the healing process. Does anyone have any experiences with Vitamin E oil?

I tried some 10,000 IU vitamin E for brown/redmarks exactly 1 year and 1 week ago (i know this because I wanted a quick-fix for a special event at that time :D). My skin is naturally pretty oily. I only used it three times because this bump started to form about half an inch below my right eye. It was basically a pimple, but it never came to a head. This bump left the longest brown mark I've ever had on my face. Today, a little over a year later, the mark has cleared about 95%, so now it just looks like a small barely noticeable birthmark or something. Anyway, I just think this is the weirdest experience I've ever had with a mark and it is due to vitamin e :P

So it took a year to get rid of it, eh? Well, that's a bitch. I guess time does fly, though. Hmm... Maybe a year isn't so bad. My head is out of it tonight. I can't think of anything to say!

If it is not good for scars why do doctors reccomend it? My boyfriend got some skin grafting done and they recommended him to use Vitamin E oil on it..
