Recently, I have a couple of pimples and I had never exfoliated before so I decided to try it. I exfoliated about 2-3 times a day for just less than a week. And today, I realized I developed these very small red bumps on my forehead and left cheek. Is this a sign of over exfoliation? And does anyone know a quick way to get rid of it as I am starting school in three days. Thank you!

What do you use to exfoliate? You should probably only exfoliate once a day, maybe even once every other day. I LOVE the micro fiber exfoliating cloth from ncnskincare.com.

Sounds like you've irritated your skin. You're not supposed to exfoliate more than 2-3 times week.

2-3 times a day is waaaay overkill.

Try being gentle with your skin for a few days. Moisturize it well and lay off anything harsh. Then re-introduce your usual topicals, and keep exfoliating to a minimum.

I've applied Aloe Gel on my face and it stings like nobody's business!

Thank you for your advice!

That's cuz your skin is RAW from over exfoliating....

Ya you're over exfoliating. You have to give your skin some down time to bounce back. Ideally 1 or 2 times a week is enough.

...and be gentle.

Yeah, as has been said, you're way overdoing it. I also suggest cutting the baking soda at least until your skin is back to normal. That alone could be ravaging your skin. The idea that you're exfolating your skin with baking soda 1-2 times a day... *shudders*

Either way, if you're looking for everyday exfolation, try manual exfoliation in the formal of the baby brush method.
