Dihydroxyacetone to cover redmarks

I have some redmarks on my neck (4-6 months old) that aren't horrible but noticeable. I am less likely to tan as I just turned 23 and want to keep sun damage to a minimum.

With that being said, I just ordered Copptertone's sunless gradual tanner which has excellent reviews no matter where you look. The active ingrediant in most sunless and this is Dihydroxyacetone.

I am curious if anyone has been able to mask/blend redmarks with a similar product?? I wouldn't say I am acne prone now. I had breakouts from a steroid I went on after a successful brain surgery.
