Have you guys heard of CARBOXY?

I went to another plastic surgeon and he told me the only three options for me is filler dermabrassion and or this new thing called Carboxy. They use little needle and fill the scar area with O2 and they claim they seen dramatic results after just one and two treatments.

This site explains it but i guess itss been used more for cellulite

It looks pretty weak, maybe with very minimal scarring it could help.

in a sense if you think about it its like a subcision but air is blown to seperate it, it's less harsh but worth a try and a lot less $$.

it has great success on strecth marks and cellulite but it has only been used here in the US for a year or less I think. I'll be the first on this board to use it on pox scars and will post results with pics on each session.

Qoute from a artlcle online "The results on stretch marks and scars are permanent, but doctors suggest that to maintain reduced cellulitelevels, you should have boosters every six months.

Iwill for sure. I go next week on Wednesday and the cost is $80 for both temple area. I already have before pics and i'll post after each session and two days after each session. From what I was told you can notice a big difference just on one session but i'm not sure if that has to do because of the air trapped in there or because the blood is already there flowing.

I've had carboxy treatment on a hypertrophic scar I developed from a dermabrassion. I really didn't see much difference although my scar is a hypertrophic scar. Anyhow, if you are going to go for the carboxy treatment make sure they don't over do it!!!!! Mine was over done and I lost a lot of fat on that one treated area on my cheek and I have a big dent on my face now. I am not sure how it will get fixed but right now I am just trying to tell my self it will be ok since its only fat I lost. Although if you are trying to get rid of acne scars the dermabrassion I had really got rid of them, although I am not happy because now I have two hypertrophic scars close to the jaw line on each cheek. But I guess not everyone is as unlucky. And now i wished i had my acne scars now instead of these hypertrophic scars. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I'm amazed how this thing allows you to shed fat. you don''t even need lipo. Temple area doesn't really have fat so i doubt i would have to worry about this certain area. you should have the other side of your face done to even out the fat loss. how much did it cost you and how big was the treated area?

After reading up on this some, I would be a bit worried using it on the face. It does have the potential to give you fat loss which is not good in your face, especially under an indented scar! Thermage did this to some posters here, and they were not too happy, the fat does not just come back easily in those certain areas. I guess the point of the laser is to remove some fat and then that stimulates the blood flow under the skin which works to repair the scar. I would rather have poc marks than pockets of missing fat on my face.

I understand what you ae saying however, the temple area next to the eye and the eye brows there's no fat there whatsoever. I very much think this will act better than a subcision. i'll keep you all posted on Wednesday after i do the procedure in the morning. I will ask the specialist nurse about the fat loss even though there's no fat in this area of my face unless i was 300 lbs

I have actually read before that thermage did create fat loss on temple areas, so you can get worse indents there. You may not notice it till months after the procedure too. Every part of the skin has an underlying layer of fat so there would be a risk. Especially since they basically state the results from this procedure stem from fat loss. Maybe I am wrong, but better safe than sorry with these things.

i hear you. now that i look at i i already do have a slight indent and i think its more the way my face is structured and not because of the scars. I guess if it gets worse I can always use fillers?

wiki there are alot of risks when considering scar treatments. U should know this already, but it can also give u substantial improvements. Every precedure carrys risk, but done with right hands, general luck and health, u can get good results..

from excissions to fraxel to subcission i seem it all..all have risks..

this carboxy seems similar to needling..im doing self needling right now..i havnet run into any problems wiht needling..a good 2-3 months needling..i have done it 2 times already..gonna slow it down to once every 3 months..

results- everyone wnats results...i would say none..the scars look worse couse they are red so it assentuates the dept.

needling is just poking the scars with a needle and thats it? what guage needle you use? i guess carboxy is almost the same except it injects O2 which allows space between so blood and collagen form and produce. i only read mid bruise is the effectyou get from it but thats about it and a 30guage needle will not leave any big holes

Luziana,

Did you say you were happy with the dermabrasion? this it had gotten rid of most scars? Mine are shallow to some deeper. Do you think it will resolve the deeper?

Wiki,

When will you try the Bulgarian methods? Also, the led device you got for $100, how may I order?

I had the Carboxy done today and that was a weird feeling. Cold air going into your skin between the muscle and skin and feels cold and weird. I looked like a chipmunk for 15 minutes. its amazing how the air travels all over and stayed trapped for a little while. The scars were gone until my face went back to normal. Its still puffy. The Nurse said I should be seeing results as the days goes by. I'll keep you all posted with pics. i' going next week for one more session and see how it turns out even though the doc recommended five sessions.
