Last night I used benzoyl peroxide (prob a bit more than i should have as it turns out) as a spot treatment (for a whitehead that was hardly noticeable). It was left on for about 14-15 hrs. This morning I woke up with a circular welt/burn(?) in the area i applied the dollop. It is red, raised, and inflammed and about 1 cm or so in diameter. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions for how it should be dealt with?

what % bp did you use? you probably should have rubbed it in instead... i've tried to leave it on and it does get somewhat inflamed and enlarged

Avoid applying any type of acne treatment to the spot for a few days, the best advice is to leave it alone, maybe apply some vasaline. I've recently dealt with my own type of chemical burn, for me aloe helped a lot.
