Is Retinol and Retin-a the same thing?

How about Retinoids? Tretnoids? All the same?

I want to use a Retin-a... what I have are two things. One says Retinol.. the other says it has Retinoic Acid in it. Either a Retin-a?

Retinol is definitely not Retin-A (Tretinoin). Retinol is simply the oxidized form of Vitamin A.

Retinoic acid IS Retin-A (Tretinoin). Tretinoin is simply the clinical name of retinoic acid.
