Leaky gut

Found a good article:

http://www.enzymestuff.com/conditionleakygut.htm

Leads me to a few questions though:

1- How many times a day would you take a digestive enzyme?

2- Its better to take them in between meals so they can go straight to the bloodstream and help clean it out? (provided you have a good diet)

3- Are digestive enzymes a good long-term supplement or better used in a temporary nutrition-restoration/body-cleansing supplement program?

Enzyme depends what kind of enzyme if food digestive than between meal if Complete Enzyme that 2 tablet than after meal.

If you have leaky gut than I also suggest you to take Probiotics. Natren brand are best for probiotic.

That's interesting that oats seemed to prevent leaky gut in that study. I've been contemplating adding some gluten-free oats for the longest time but have been hesitant about consuming any grains at all since I've been off them for so long.

1/2- As far as enzymes go, it's always best to take them with a meal to help breakdown food particles. If you want to take more, I think it's the combo of bromelain/papain that they recommend taking in between meals to help reduce inflammation, clean up the gut, etc. I would definitely highly recommend with meals though first and then if you want to take more then go ahead and take some in between meals.

3- I personally think they're great to use in the long-term; takes some of the stress/energy of digestion away and allows your body to focus more on other things. It also helps ensure you're properly assimilating and digesting the food you are consuming.

But I was thinking if your diet is good, you wouldn't need to worry about taking enzymes to help break down the food, though of course they could help get more benefits from the foods. But by taking them between meals, they'd go straight to the bloodstream and help get any crap out, which sounds really intriguing.

But the bromelain/papain is suppose to be in combo? I didn't pick up on that. So basically that would mean eating some pineapple and papaya between meals?

Melfice - referring to one of my old topics, http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...=198945&hl=

getting probiotics as you recommended is least desirable?

I had read something recently about making kefir from coconut water. Heres the article http://www.bodyecology.com/coconutkefir.php . Ive been meaning to give it a try but havent gotten around to ordering the starter culture. Might be worth a shot if you cant handle milk or soy

You can also make yogurt from coconut, if anyone's interested.

Also, if you have leaky gut, this is one of the few times I would recommend a good-quality multivitamin. Leaky gut correlates just about 100% with mild to moderate nutritional deficiencies, and to make up for these, a multivitamin will be helpful.

Do you know someone who cured the leaky gut and candida acne eating only non starched vegetables, fish, chicken, meat, without using probiotic capsules, without using l glutamine, but eating too: beans, brown rice, fruits everyday?

Who have leaky gut said have these symptoms: pain in the belly, floating and gases. So, if someone have only the acne, folliculitis and dermatitis on the body without other symptoms, dont have leaky gut and dont need to do the leaky gut diet with L glutamine and probiotic capsules, right?
