Retin-A Micro. Prevents new acne? Or helps in acne in going away?

I'm currently on Accutane, but occasionally spot-treat with Retin-A Micro 0.04%. However, I don't see any difference between using it and not using it (other than that area being dry).

I was wondering if Retin-A Micro is meant for preventing acne? Since it doesn't seem to help my existing acne go away.

Bingo. Retinoids don't really do anything to attack currently existing zits.

Differin is the only one that dares to say something close to "Will help existing ones fade" or something, but it has no backing.

By mechanism, retinoids aren't like antibiotics - they don't do anything to current lesions; they work and keep up a fast cell shed/growth cycle to prevent new ones from forming.

I don't really get why there are still those very few dermatologists who say to spot treat with retinoids. @[email protected]
