i've always read not to overdo exfoliation because it can do more harm than good and make you look older. could using AHA daily age my skin? is there a minimum age limit?

Its ok to use AHA daily and anybody can use it. If you've never used AHA, you should start out slow and then you can increase your applications to daily or twice daily. You can increase the percentage of AHA as your skin gets used to it.

Exfoliation does not make the skin look older. It's the most important part of any anti-aging regimen, so it will definitely not make your skin age faster. Proper exfoliation is important for a lot of different reasons - and yes it's important to remember not to go overboard with it. Usually it's recommended that people start exfoliating in their early 20s because that is when the natural skin shedding process begins to slow down.
