These don't work! List 'em

Recommended Posts

Dermablend cover creme foundation

Aubrey Nicole mineral foundation (because it was Kaolin I thought it would work)

Clean and Clear salycilic acid spot treatment

alternatives:

MAX factor panstick, makesure you have a clean surface to start with because it goes places through out the day, powder it.

Neutrogena mineral sheers foundation wonderful, maybelline purestay is good too

Queen Helen's mint Julep mask, it's cheap for a big tub, you get your sulfer AND your Kaolin

Diorshow Mascara.. I wouldn't necessarily say it doesn't work it's just not worth the price. I went to Sephora and the lady there told me it was the best selling mascara so I went for it and the results weren't anything spectacular. Drugstore brand would do the same.

Clinique Clarifying Makeup Clear Skin Formula good coverage but the shades suck for fair skinned girls like myself, the first shade is too light and the second shade cream something is orange .. if they had better color choices i'd love them.

I'm sure theres more I've tried I just cant think of any right now.

try maybelline full n soft. i think it works just as well! if not better!

oh my list is incredibly long, i spend so much on makeup its ridiculous!

the most recent though are:

Revlon colorstay minerals- the shades are weird and barely any coverage, even for a mineral makeup

Physicians formula mineral makeup powder-the new organic one- it doesn't work that great, made my skin look dull and it SMELLS! i don't know if its because it its organic or what but ew.

doesn't work for me:

proactiv

skyn iceland (ok... but nothing great)

clean and clear moisturizers (SUCKSS)

actually all drug store brands for me just basically don't work :(

it sucks they don't work, because they're so affordable!

Bare Minerals Starter kit (broke me out/irritated my face- took it back for refund)

Proactiv (too harsh- took it back for refund)

Purpose daily face wash (too drying)

Kirkland Signature (Costco) foundation by Bourghese (sp)

Clinique dramatically diffrent moisturizer (broke me out)

I'll think of more, I'm sure.

I like DiorShow a lot as well. It's far above any drugstore mascara I've tried, but the price is still hard to justify. I do like Maybelline Volum Express for a cheaper alternative, but it takes a lot more coats.

I don't like...

Maybelline Great Lash - too natural; what's the point? I might as well not even wear mascara....

Maybelline Intense XXL - I can put 5 coats of this on & it hardly makes a difference

Clarins self tanner - orange, streaky, smelly

Shiseido accentuating color stick - acne in stick, color that streaks & fades within an hour

Joppa Minerals - gray ashy face

Revlon Colorstay - pink cement mix for the face

Dr Brandt Pore Effect - pricey & ineffective...a fancy cream with a little bha

- Revlon ColorStay (the regular liquid as well as the 'active light' version)

- Covergirl TruBlend (the one with the pump bottle)

- Physician's Formula green concealer

Ughh, all of the above brings back bad memories. I will never use liquid foundation again!!

Clinique Anti-Acne Solutions Range - Turned my mild acne to moderate/almost severe. Started breaking me out at places I've never had acne too.

Everyday Minerals Silk Dust - Lots of tiny under-the-skin bumps. Not sure if they were acne or not. They all disappeared as soon as I stopped using it.

Jojoba Oil - Itchy skin. Tiny breakouts.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser - strong perfumy smell, not as gentle as it claims.

Mabelline XXL mascara - it will straighten your lashes after you've worked so hard to curl them because its to "wet" of a mascara.

Physicials formula Color Corrective Moisturizing Lotion (green facetint), supposed to be for redness but doesnt do a darn thing, although I love their green concealer and powder.

Im sure theres more but cant think of em all

Benefit BadGal

Covergirl Lash Blast

Bare Minerals foundation

EDM Everday Everywear - not that great at moisturizing

just about anything Avon - the colors are never accurate in comparison to what's in the catalog - of course i know that there will be some variations but IMO, they're extreme

I think it's safe to say that most physicians formula sucks.

it's expensive and sometimes I think the stuff with harsh chemicals just plain looks better sad to say

Omg, Clean and Clear salycilic acid Spot Treatment worked when I had mild acne, and then it became more severe and instead it just made it worse.

Clearasil StayClear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream with 10% BP smelled bad and dried my skin like nutso and didn't even do anything. Even for small zits.

Clean&Clear Advantage [Twisty Tube Thing]

Acna treatments that don't work:

Clean & Clear Advantage Kit -- HUGE waste of money, made my skin so red and dry that it would bleed! I couldn't even open my mouth it was so bad!

Tazorac -- it might work after months and months of using it, but it's just not worth the disaster that it does to your face for the first few months

Clean and Clear Spot Treatment -- doesn't do anything.

Clean and Clear continueous Control -- doesn't do anything.

Make-Up that doesn't work:

Physician's Formula concealer--all of them-- terrible with dry skin and get cakey

Loreal Mistake-Proof Eyeliner Marker -- I bought this because it was "mistake proof", but I've never made more mistakes than I have with this liner. it's a marker and sometimes it comes out in a heaping pile, other times it doesn't come out at all.

I´ve been trying Everyday Minerals, but it makes my skin even more oily than when using regular make up. I had lots of hope for this, but nah, not working for me.

DID NOT WORK:

clearasil

oxy

WORKED:

i gave up in high school and went pro and never looked back i wub my benzymycin

if you can get spectro gel for problem prone skin it works AMAZING as a cleanser that won't dry out your face the only thing is it takes months for it to fully condition your skin so a lot of people give up after the first month, but like all good acne therapies they usually take time to work.

BEST PRODUCT EVER vichy concentrate for sudden localized breakouts. seriously i apply it during the day to a spot and it takes away redness and the pimple in very little time. great product but way expensive for the small amount you get. :( but i guess thats the trade off

Nair, Neet, veet or any other depilatory cream. At least, not anywhere you really need them. They'll get the fine hairs off my arms, but not the hair on my shins or bikini line.

Neutrogena skin care line, none of that stuff works.

Clean and Clear Advantage Kit. It worked really well after the first time, then the second time around didn't clear my skin up as well as the first time. I had more blemishes, my pimples were all red.

Murad, chemicals were harsh and destroys your skin after a couple of weeks.

Covergirl products.

Nair, that stuff is lethal and burns/irritates your skin.
