roaccutane and dexamphetamine

Hi im currently on bactrim and am going on roaccutane in a month i have decided because I am sick of dealing with this problem ive tried all different antibiotics to no avail and just when it looks like my skin is clearing it comes back again, Im 27 and so over this skin....

Can anyone please direct me to ppl who can give me their expert med opinions on whether dexamphetamine can cause acne....i think its a possibility...but am not sure...also I need to know if it is ok to take dexamphetamine with roaccutane and if dex can cause acne will the roaccutane still work to get rid of the acne....

Those are questions you need to ask your doctor.

Stimulants like amphetamine can definitely contribute to acne, especially with heavy or long-term use. I assume you're prescribed dex for ADD. If you can go without it, I would try stopping for a couple weeks or switching to another medication like Strattera before going on accutane to see if it helps. If not, you can usually take amphetamine and accutane at the same time, but it has the risk of increasing some side effects such as high blood pressure. And yes, your acne will improve no matter what you take accutane with.
