Need a Beach-trip skin care plan!

Recommended Posts

Ok here's the deal, i'm going with some friends to the beach this weekend and don't wanna have to worry about dealing with my skin. What's some good pointers or a good plan i can keep in mind while i'm away while still using the regimen and keeping my good results? I know, tall order right. Thanks in advance!

Hi there. The beach sounds like fun. :) Here are some things to keep in mind:

-If you're clear, and have been for some time, then your skin can probably survive a weekend without BP. You may only see a few new pimples. You may not see any new pimples. I recently went off of BP (thought I'd developed an allergy) and stayed clear for about a week before I saw any breakouts.

-If you're not clear, then it would be a good idea to make time to do your regimen during your weekend getaway. There are various approaches you could take. You could skip the a.m. regimen and sort of "make it up" in the evening. After all, you'll be out in the sun, and the BP will wash off anyway when you swim, plus there's the sun sensitivity issue. And many people feel your body does its best healing at night, and I completely agree. You could do "express regimen"--that is, wash, cut out the wait, slap on BP, slap on moisturizer (moisturizer sunscreen will kill 2 w/ one). And if you can't do your reg till 3 am after a night of partying, (or you skip it) so be it.

In short, just make an effort to do your reg whenever you have some down time, however half-assed, and you'll do ok.

Hope this was helpful. Have a nice trip! And don't forget the sunscreen!!

Hey, glad I could help! :)

Ok, here's a small list of sunblocks/sunscreens for you to choose from:

-Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin (SPF 15): Dan's recommendation for face.

-Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch

-Copper-Tone Oil-Free

-Banana Boat Sunblock SPF 30

All these are non-comedogenic. Hopefully there will be at least one of these products for sale at your local drugstore. Have fun in the sun!
