Did anyone notice breaking out after starting to breastfeed?

Recommended Posts

I just had a baby 3 weeks ago, and also have been breastfeeding. My skin was actually doing very great while pregnant, almost as if it were clearer than normal. Anyway, 3 weeks after I had the baby--today, I have noticed that I have been breaking out alot, and each day it gets worse. I haven't done anything different at all, so I know it's not products I am using or something I am eating. I just wondered if maybe the hormones that stimulate milk production maybe are causing me flair ups and wondered if anyone else experienced this or if it's just in my head and maybe a coincidence. Thanks!

The exact same thing happenned to me. When I was pregnant my skin was super clear and a few months after having the baby I started breaking out again. I have always had problem skin and since I had super clear skin during pregnancy it must of been a hormone thing. I really don't know. Birth control pills never cleared my acne, so I can't figure out how pregnancy did b/c bc pills make your body think it's pregnant. Go figure?
