What is the consistency of calamine lotion like?

Is it suppose to be watery? I ask since I went to Rite-Aid last week and the calamine lotion bottle I saw was watery and I thought that it was suppose to be of lotiony consistency. Was that bottle just expired or is calamine lotion suppose to be like that :ninja: ?

From what I remember of it from when I had chickenpox, it was always really thin and watery. My grandma would just put some on a cotton ball and dab it on my pox and then it quickly dried to a chalky pink. So I'm thinking it's supposed to be that way.

The calamine lotion is watery and settles with the clear on top pink on botton. I think you are thinking of caladryl lotion, it's creamier, not sure whats in the caladryl to make it creamy but it's used for the same purposes, bug bites, chicken pox sores poison ivy. If you are going to use on face I've used the calamine lotion (watery stuff)
