I was just researching this products and found this entry in Acne.org.

It's under: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...p;#entry2340477

The member's name is lili21

I hope this helps - I may give it a try myself. The pictures look promising.

Hi everyone,

I'm new in this forum, but I wanted to share with everyone what I've been doing to get my red marks to fade VERY quickly. This may not work for everyone, as I may have just been lucky, but I know the frustration of having those stupid red marks on your face, and I just wanted to share my experience with everyone (with pictures). Here goes...

I'm a 21 y.o. Asian female. Usually, I get a pimple here and there, but last summer, I- for some unknown reason- broke out all over my cheeks! In desperation of trying to get rid of them, I came across online advices that told me to use apple cider vinegar on my acne to help them heal faster...HUGE MISTAKE! Not only did my acne get worse, but they actually formed scabs! These scabs, of course, fell off eventually, leaving me with HUGE, VISIBLE red/brown/purple (the whole spectrum) marks. For the past year, it has faded somewhat, but not entirely. Here are the things I've tried:

-hydroquinone: only used it for about 2 weeks, didn't do anything for me, and I stopped using it because I read somewhere that it was unsafe (please don't quote me on this)

-Meladerm: expensive, AND did NOTHING for me. I used it religiously for a month and a half, and finally called them to send it back because it did nothing.

Then finally, I came across Delna's regimen (right here on acne.org), and tried it. The first 2 days, I didn't notice anything spectacular. For my spot treatment, I used Neutrogena on the spot treatment, and it DID treat my pimples, but it too left me with huge (very large) red spots on my face as if I got burn spots (where i applied the Neutrogena treatment). FINALLY (sorry for the long storyline), I read about Clinique's "Even Better skin tone corrector" in a magazine, and decided to give it a try. It promised to erase sun, age, and post-acne spots. For $40, it came in a tube no twice the length of my thumb. What i did was combined Clinique's Even Better with Delna's regimen and VOILA! I noticed results in 2 days! I asked everyone I knew whether my marks were actually fading, or was I imagining things, and everyone asked what i used to make it go away so quickly. Well, here's what I use, and please credit Delna, since I didn't make this up:

Morning:

1) clean with Cetaphil gentle cleanser - it's the only cleanser that costs less than $20 that doesn't break me out, dry my skin, or give me comedogens (small bumps on my face)

2) scrub my face with baking soda very gently until I feel my face stinging

3)wash (of course)

4) apply a 1:1 ratio of apple cider vinegar to water (basically, I just mix equal parts of ACV + water into a small cup, swoosh it around a lil', and then apply with a cotton ball) - for this, I use Bragg's apple cider vinegar, it's sold in health food stores, or Vitamin Shoppe, where i got mine

5) wash after 10-15 mins

6) tone with toner- I do this just to make sure that my skin's pH level is actually "normal" because both baking soda as well as vinegar are at the extremes of the pH spectrum (one is extremely basic, another is acidic) For my toner, I use Lancome's toner Clarte, not for any specific reason, but just because I got it for really cheap ($8) at TJMaxx's

7) apply Clinique's Even better

8) Moisturize with Cocoa Butter (i use Chantal Cocoa Butter- I don't think it's readily available in stores, i actually came across it in my insurance's pharmacy)

===> 9) SUN BLOCK!!!! VERY VERY IMPORTANT, especially if you plan to put all this stuff on your skin!!!

Evening:

1) Take off make-up (if any), then clean with Cetaphil again

2) use an egg white mask- wash off after 30 min

-occasionally, I would also use an egg *yolk* mask also (please google this if you're interested)

3) Use toner again (Lancome)

4) apply Clinique's even better

5) cocoa butter

I also drink ACV twice a day, 2 teaspoons in a cup of water with honey.

Okay, so my "progress" pictures are on flicker, if anyone is interested:

Here are the exact same photos:

June 29 (today):

Reduced 40%

They are 4 days apart, 2 of those photos are from June 29th, I just wanted it under a different lighting. Thanks for reading, and hopefully, this post will help someone, not trying to make myself famous or anything...just wanted to share. I actually have already made an appointment with the dermatologist, but since this is working so well for me, I'll probably cancel it. Good luck all, and if anyone is interested, I will keep you guys posted. Please refer to Delna's post for details! (No, I'm not Delna btw, I just don't want to take her credit)

As the above member mentioned, I'm currently using Clinique's even better. In my own personal experience, it has worked very well for me. I've been combining it with Delna's regimen, and my red marks are fading very dramatically. I don't see an improvement in my "skin tone", per se, but it is definitely helping my marks. Although one member said that it contains comedogens and "bad" ingredients, I haven't broken out or anything from it, and my skin is usually VERY sensitive. I think if you're going to use Clinique's, you should probably clean, exfoliate, and use sunblock also, since all of these steps help speed up the process. G'luck! Hope that was helpful! Oh and btw, I asked the representative at a department store where I bought Clinique's even better, and she said that you can return it within 30 days, even if its opened. So if you try it and it doesn't work for you, you can also go to them and return it- just make sure you keep the packaging and the receipt, of course.

So that's great, I can try this on my skin first, you should do the same!

I still haven't tried it yet. I've been waiting for more reviews on it... so I'd love to hear all of your experiences with it. My skin has been getting better with my current regimen so I haven't been worrying as much about trying something new. But, if I hear good results maybe I'll give it a try.

I tried it for a couple of weeks and it made me break out MUCH worse, so I don't know if it helped my red marks. :(

I THINK (I may be seeing things) that my marks have gotten a lot better, with a little bit of mineral make-up (I'm trying everyday minerals), It's bareeely visible. It hasn't faded to the point where I can go without make-up and look like i have perfect skin yet, but the old marks have gotten much much better. I keep staring where the marks used to be, and I really don't see it as much anymore. UNFORTUNATELY, though, I've been having a little acne break-out (about 4-5 pimples) due to rise a in estrogen (^_-), so I want to wait for the acne to clear first before i take another update picture- since you can see the acne a lot more than the marks.

EDIT: i would also recommend Dan's AHA+. It's A LOT cheaper than Clinique's AND it really does give you good looking skin. I mean I'm doing so many things in conjunction that I have no idea which variable is the one making the change- or all of them combined is doing the trick. But so far, I love Dan's AHA

How did you get a free sample? And if it's supposed to take 4-5 weeks, what good is a little sample going to be anyway?

Also, do they ship to UK?

A good place to get reviews on products is makeupalley.com

The reviews on the clinique did not make me want to buy it.

Hey there....

I think this skin tone corrector ....erm, works in a way....But u have to be persistent with it...

I've been using it like for the first 3 days..and then i start to buy products after products that sometimes i left this skin tone regime out.

there's like aha neutrogena healthy skin, sudocrem, dan's bp, hirudoid scar treatment...that i can't fit this corrector in. lol.

But i'm spot treating it on areas that i don't have much acne on (touch wood) .

Anyway, overall, i think it does work. a little , A lot if you keep using it.

Dudes, I just bought this Clinique Even Bettera week and a half ago, after seeing an ad in a magazine. I was a little skeptical because nothing ever works for me. . .most things make me break out even more. This product, however, has been amazing already. I suffer from horrible scarring from acne. I'm African American, fair-medium complexion, so the marks are really noticeable and quite embarrassing. I've tried all kinds of products in the past. . Black Opal and Proactiv to name a couple. Black Opal didn't work AT ALL and proactive made my skin oilier and bumpier. Plus the fade cream that they make smells horrible and faded my pillow cases more than it did my blemishes/marks.

Anyway, this Clinique stuff is fading the dark spots already. . .some are almost gone IN A WEEK, and I haven't had any adverse reactions. It's very mild and silky feeling. I only use a little in the places I need it, both morning and night. I wash my face with the FREE Clinique Rinse off foaming cleanserI received with my Even Betterpurchase, apply my Aveeno moisturizer with 15 SPF during the day and the FREE Dramatically Differentmoisturizer at night, followed by the Even Better both day and night. And I swear that's all I'm doing. I'm usually battling painful pimples almost weekly, but I haven't had any since I've started this regimen. I'm AMAZED and so grateful for the great products I've found.

I bought the Clinique Even Better skin tone corrector in October of 09 to help my post acne marks fade (full story on my log in my sig) Skipping all the details, I felt the corrector made my acne and marks more inflamed than before, so I stopped using it after 2 weeks. The specialist told me this may have happened because my acne wasn't completely gone yet when I started using it, hence the irritated skin. I went to a dermatologist in December 09 and am now on Doryx (pills) and Acanya and Differin (day and night cream treatment) This combination has helped my acne to subside almost completely, and now in focusing on getting rid of my marks, my derm mentioned a few options.

1) Let them fade naturally (could take 1-2 years!)

2) Get laser surgery done to remove the red marks and restore my skin's natural texture (depending on which one I choose the cost would be $2000 or $3200. Note: I'm a broke college student. :( )

3) Use a sample cream she gave me called 'Finacea' which is actually prescribed for mild to moderate rosacea.

4) my own option - start using Clinique Even Better skin tone corrector again. The reviews are tempting, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'll try out the Finacea for a few weeks and then switch back to Clinique if there's no results.

Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector did nothing for me, but I didn’t use it for very long because I found it irritated my skin and broke me out further. Clinique's products in general do nothing for me, but they seem to get good reviews so I guess they're doing something right.
